First: find your lag type
Stuttering in the campaign is a device performance issue. Teleporting opponents online is a network issue. The fixes differ, so identify yours before changing settings in Pokemon Arena 2D.
These fixes were tested on the current build from the Pokemon Arena 2D APK download page. The Pokemon Arena 2D site homepage lists our tested devices for reference.
Graphics settings
Open the options menu and lower battle effects first; they cost the most frames. Then reduce background detail. The 2D sprites stay sharp at lower settings, so you lose spectacle, not readability. Test in training mode after each change.
Free up the device
Close background apps, especially anything downloading. Turn off battery saver during play; it throttles the CPU exactly when the arena needs it. A restart before a long session clears more than you would expect.
Network lag fixes
For online stutter: switch to Wi-Fi, move closer to the router, and pause cloud backups during matches. If the online guide queues feel fine but matches stutter, the problem is almost always your connection, not the game.
When nothing helps
On very old phones, some slowdown in busy scenes is the hardware ceiling. The game targets Android 5.0 and up, but mid-range and newer phones have the smoothest experience. Reinstall the verified build from the Pokemon Arena 2D APK download page if performance suddenly got worse; a corrupt data unpack can cause that.
